Welcome to my blog! I’m going to share my experiences with Type 2 Diabetes. In my opinion, diabetes is an art and not a science; hence most everything comes by way or trial and error. Before posting an entry, I do an extensive research on the subject. I also started writing about things that happen every day and how I learned to handle them independently; I do this mostly on my other blog, websaladbar.
This post is intended for those who understand what it takes to live with diabetes or at least have some compassion. I am aware that not everyone is capable of that. I’ve seen plenty of infographics on the net screaming about things like, John ate 48 candies out of 54 and now he has diabetes. The others pull a similar stunt about overweight folks. Aside from zero credibility, these postings are full of an attitude. In case of John and candy, nothing can be further from the truth. There is no link between increased sugar consumption and developing diabetes.
I’m a mother of two wonderful daughters; both have graduated from OSU and live in Columbus, Ohio. I live in the Midwest; I am retired and spend my time writing blogs, tinkering with my computer, browsing the net, of course chores and staying physically active. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a few months ago. The news of T2D came as a shock, initially I was in denial but now I’m at peace with it and am trying to do the right things to keep my BG levels at bay. My last A1C level was 6.2, down from 6.4. I am currently neither on insulin nor on any diabetic meds.
I am not on any medications either. Am not interested in reversal though. Thanks

I think you are doing really a great job posting your experience here with this life condition. It could inspire many of people to work harder for their keeping their health and work to feel better. Not everyone dares to talk about their own experience. Sharing is caring and I wish you strong health and thankful followers!

Dear Anna, I am aware that your blog is award-free. However, I have nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award. Here is the link https://koolkosherkitchen.wordpress.com/2016/10/19/a-new-award-and-a-mother-in-law/ You are not in any way obligated to accept, and I fully understand that not everyone has the time and inclination to participate in these self-and-others-promoting exercises. Therefore, I truly appreciate when people accept the nominations, but I won’t get offended if they don’t. Nominating each one of you is my way of giving credit to some exceptional bloggers and perhaps attracting attention to your work.
All the best,
Dolly

I have to own up, I have type 1. Going blog my trials and tribulations with it, and will leave a pingback for you. I have always found your trials and tribulations in dealing with type 2 very interesting and enlightening, as my beloved was diagnosed with it about a year ago.
Take care,
Mick

Hi! Insomnia struck tonight. I finally gave up and decided to surf WordPress to see what other T2D’s have to say on the topic. Your blog is interesting and I’ll be following. Take care!

Hi Anna,
Thanks for stopping by site. I was just told I’m pre diabetic. My A1C is 5.7, but my trigs are always high. My dad had Diabetes II when he turned 50. I guess I’m lucky to only have it now at 65. I hope to get it down with diet and exercise as well. Have not mentioned on my site yet either. maybe in the future. Will be following your site and wish you well too. ~Julia

Hi, I have type ll as well, but am reversing it with particular herbs and minerals. Haven’t posted about it on my fibro blog yet, but it’s all part and parcel of my story so posts about it are inevitable 🙂
Good luck with your blog!

Thank you for following jcm3blog.com, a great blog for astounding fiction. As the editor of the blog and other sites mediated for the purpose of literary study and great fiction, my heart goes out to those with diabetes, personally. Not knowing much about the disease, my heart still goes out to those who have it. I will keep those that have the disease in my prayers; one of my grandmother’s friends passed from it. It was not a pleasant way to go; we will leave it at that. If you ever want to contribute to short-fiction, there are many ways to do it. Though it looks like your blog is mostly for diabetes research and discussion, here is a site that lists fiction magazines: duotrope. If you write a short story and it does not get accepted for publication, send it to subs@oval-magazine.com and we can post it on the blog there or you can see our contest windows by going to http://www.oval-magazine.com.
Thank you again for the follow. Stay strong and Godbless – jcm3rockstar 🙂

good luck, glad you liked my comment on admirablylegal, do take some computer time to see susancprice@wordpress.com… i was diagnosed with beginning osteo arthritis last year, and it got a bit worse and Kaiser assigned me to a “Dealing with Chronic Illness” class, helpful and boring and i agree…its all still more at the level of “art” than “science” good luck dear
